The Planning and Redevelopment Department is responsible
for long range strategic and land use planning, current planning
including maintaining the Land Development Code, reviewing development
proposals for compliance with codes and regulations, economic
development and annexation programs, processing and issuance of local
business tax receipts, and protection of local property values by
enforcing the codes and regulations of the City through the Code
Enforcement Program. The Department also provides staff support for the
Planning Board, the Board of Adjustment, the Code Enforcement Board, and
the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), as well as professional and
technical services to other internal departments.
